Contemporary Industrial House Features

The most defining characteristic of contemporary industrial style is its exposed structural elements. This style started in industrial areas when abandoned factories were converted to lofts and condos. Exposed steel, concrete, and brick are durable building materials that can be left exposed inside the home. The look is particularly striking when contrasted with muted paint jobs and white walls. Many of these exposed elements have been intentionally weathered to add character to the overall look, reinforcing the industrial motif. If you want to emulate the look but aren’t quite sure where to start, you can always create shelves from copper pipes or buy an industrial desk lamp.

The exterior of a contemporary industrial house is composed of various-sized glass windows that cast warm yellow light. It has a large foreground tree. Moreover, the interior has wooden walls that act as a fence between the interior and exterior areas. This makes it very functional. In addition, the interiors feature large glass windows. The whole building is complemented by various accents and features. Besides, the exterior walls of the house are composed of gray and white wooden materials.

This style combines urban and utilitarian designs. In addition to exposed bricks, this style also makes use of copper accents and distressed wood elements. The interior is often open and uncluttered, making it easy to mix modern and vintage-inspired architectural details. A modern industrial home is also best suited for open floor plans, which allow for more contrast and style. If you’d like to experience a home with this look, consider a contemporary industrial style from a trusted builder or architect.

The exterior of a contemporary industrial-style house is slim and modern. The side entrance features large sliding glass doors and a transom window. The interior features tinted glass windows. A large window complements the A-frame roof while smaller windows are situated on the second and third floors. The concrete walkways flanked by ferns and shrubs create a lovely landscape scenery. They also serve as a great place for outdoor entertainment.

To add texture to the room, industrial furniture is the way to go. A black banquet table and two black chairs will complement a concrete-walled wall. In a similar vein, a white dining table with a wrought-iron leaf tabletop will provide a contrast for the dark wood of the dining table. A wooden wheeled table provides an element of play. The dining area features a reclaimed wood accent wall. The front door, a solid frame, also lends a touch of warmth to the space.

Furniture in a contemporary industrial style is often repurposed. You can also find vintage items at local flea markets. You can even use a wooden cart as a centre table for the living room. Worn-out leather furnishings add to the lived-in feel of an industrial-style home. Soak up all the inspiration you can find in vintage furniture. When decorating, think outside the box. Consider the re-purposed furniture and furnishings to achieve the look you want.
